Jack Arndt

Jack Arndt
Senior V-P, Marketing & Sales Promotion Macy's
Jack Arndt currently serves as Senior Vice President/Marketing and Sales Promotion at Macy’s Northwest. Jack began his retail career in 1972 as an Executive Trainee with The Bon Marché, now Macy’s Northwest. A year later he was promoted to Department Manager, and, over the course of the following 18 years, he served in a variety of positions including Buyer, Divisional Merchandise Manager, and Divisional Vice President. In 1991, he was promoted to Group Vice President/Big Ticket and Electronics, and three years later became the Senior Vice President/General Merchandise Manager for Home. In 2000, Jack was promoted to Senior Vice President/Marketing. Jack graduated from University of Puget Sound with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. His community involvement includes current board membership on the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle and The American Heart Association Northwest. He oversees Partners In Time the employee volunteer program for Macy’s Northwest and previously served as board member of the Seattle Sports Council, and as a member of The 2002 Seattle Bowl Committee. Jack and his wife, Christy, live in Kirkland, WA.

Pam Eakes

Pam Eakes
Founder & President, Mothers Against Violence in America
Pamela Eakes founded Mothers Against Violence in America (MAVIA), a national nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing violence by and against children in 1993 and served as CEO of the organization until 2004. Prior to founding MAVIA, Eakes was an advertising executive with Leo Burnett Advertising in Chicago and later a principal of Trimpe, Drury and Eakes in Seattle. Eakes currently serves on the board of the Northwest African-American Museum and her previous civic service includes the President’s Advisory Committee on the Arts for the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, National Center for Safe Schools Board, Chair of the Dept. of Justice SAFEFUTURES grant for the City of Seattle, Governor’s Council on Juvenile Justice, Governor’s Council on Citizen Service and Guild Association Board of Children’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Tania Elliott is serving as the Urban League's Board Fellow from the University of Washington. She is currently working towards both her Masters of Business Administration and her Masters of International Studies, with a focus on Global Management. Before studying at the University of Washington, Tania was as a Small Business Development Specialist in the Peace Corps in Nicaragua. She is a native of Seattle, WA.

Director of Admissions, Seattle Girls School

Jeanette M. James originally hails from the Chicago area and has called Seattle home since 1993. She is committed to the education and empowerment of young people, currently serving as the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid at Seattle Girls' School, an Independent Day School in Seattle's Central Area. Prior to Seattle Girls' School, Ms. James helped put higher education within the reach of hundreds of inner city youth through her work at the University of Washington’s Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP). She is a proud alum of Western Michigan University (BA, 1991) and Michigan State University (MA, 1993). Ms. James actively serves the Seattle community as a charter member and President of the Seattle Urban League Young Professionals. She is also an active member of the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.

Felicia relocated to Seattle from Chicago, IL (by way of Cleveland, OH) to work for Washington Mutual Bank (WaMu). Her work with WaMu entails managing a group of Analysts who review the bank’s community reinvestment performance. Prior to joining WaMu, she was the Senior Vice President of the Community Development Department with Charter One Bank (Cleveland, OH) and also worked as a Senior Bank Examiner and Consumer Regulations Director with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Felicia has volunteered with various non-profit organizations including the Urban League of Greater Cleveland, Chicago Urban League, United Way of Chicago, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., United Negro College Fund, American Diabetes Association, Urban Financial Services Coalition and currently serves as President of the Seattle Urban League Young Professionals. Felicia received her B.S. degree in Accounting from Illinois State University and is an accredited Financial Thrift and Consumer Compliance Regulator.

 

Arthur Nwokeku

Arthur N. Nwokeuku has more than 29 years experience with UPS. He began his career as a part-time package handler in Minnesota. Throughout his career with UPS, Mr. Nwokeuku has held various positions in the company. He has held his current position of UPS Washington District Vice President since 2006, overseeing a service area that includes Washington State, Alaska, and Western Idaho. In addition to his duties at UPS, Mr. Nwokeuku has been an active member of Allegheny County United Way Board of Directors. A graduate of University of the State of New York: Regents College, Mr. Nwokeuku earned his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. Born in Minnesota, Mr. Nwokeuku currently resides in Fall City, WA with his wife, Terri and four of their five children.

Tim Osborn is an attorney with Microsoft Corporation, where he leads the Law & Corporate Affairs Real Estate and Facilities group. He represents the company in real estate acquisitions, leases, subleases, property development, dispute resolution, as well as credit & collection matters. Prior to Microsoft, Mr. Osborn was a partner at Bogle & Gates in Seattle and Dorsey & Whitney’s Seattle office, where he was head of that office’s real estate group. He is a graduate of the University of Washington (BA, 1973) and Willamette University School of Law (JD, magna cum laude, 1976), and was law clerk to Justice Charles Horowitz on the Washington Supreme Court. Mr. Osborn has published articles and spoken on real estate topics such as commercial leasing, like kind exchanges, water as a boundary to real estate, and title insurance. He is Director of the Real Property section of the Washington State Bar Association and on the Board of the International Association of Attorneys and Executives in Corporate Real Estate, and of the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle.

Mylene Barizo

Mylene Barizo is the Vice President of Human Resources Enterprise Rent-A-Car of WA & AK. She began her Enterprise career as a Management Trainee in 1992 after graduating from UCLA with a degree in Political Science. After reaching management levels in branch operations, she was asked to pioneer a new venture and be among the first Local Corporate Account Managers in the organization. After two years in that role she transitioned to the HR department and now oversees all the Generalist / Recruiting / and Training functions for the WA & AK Group of Enterprise Rent-A-Car. Her duties range from legal and policy compliance elements on the Generalist side, to recurring guest lecturer or speaker roles in support of recruiting functions at major universities like WSU / WWU / CWU / UPS / and Seattle U., as well as driving the creation of management development modules on the training side. In addition to her HR duties, Mylene’s responsibilities include involvement in government relations, community outreach initiatives, and the various philanthropic programs Enterprise supports throughout Washington and Alaska.
