ULMS Childrens University After School

The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle (ULMS) after-school program has evolved into a unique place for elementary age children to attend and receive specialized assistance through Individual Tutor Plans, the 1000 Hours of Reading Promise, selective computer program lessons, and art and humanities courses. This development has been 10 years in challenging and enriching growth. In a safe and nurturing environment, ULMS Children's University provides individual education strategies in sensitive collaboration with schoolteachers and families. Every weekday from 2:30pm to 5:30pm the ULMS Children's University staff, its committed partners and reliable volunteers, exchange vast ideas to enhance programming from a vast world of agencies and organizations. The technical, cultural, and artistic advantages that Children's University seeks and serves are significant to its unusual success. ULMS Children's University opens its doors all day during spring and winter breaks. The targeted population expands as the population expands. African American students are now joined with Asian, African and Caribbean. Providing transportation for 95% of our children, most of the youth live in the Central District area. We welcome new families and volunteers year round.
