Rental Assistance

The Rental Assistance workshops teaches participants components of the landlord tenant laws, credit building skills, successful personal goal setting and how to prioritize their housing needs. Also, participants understand what landlords are looking for in potential renters. Upon completion of the training, participants receive a diploma and a listing of property owners willing to consider their participation in the program as a qualifying factor.

All participants will receive a free credit report to review, and assistance will be available for them to improve their credit issues. This program is one of the pathways to self-sufficiency offered by ULMS Housing Department.  Participants will receive referrals to affordable housing. After completion of this course, participants can take the Credit Technical Assistance workshop available to address the credit bureaus of disputed or inaccurate credit information.
