Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle voted 2008 Organization of the Year

On Thursday, April 24, 2008, the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle was honored by the Municipal League of King County as the 2008 Organization of the Year during their Annual Civic Award Ceremony. The 2008 Civic Awards, now in its 49 th year, was held at the scenic SAM Olympic Sculpture Park PACCAR Pavilion and was hosted by Christine Chen, former FOX 13 evening news anchor. Presenting the award to the League was Councilwoman Jean Godden. In her heart felt speech, Councilwoman Godden described the League as, “our pride and joy: an organization which has changed to meet the challenges of our time and never rested on last year’s laurels. A determined group of urban, compassionate warriors who live the global reality that we really are all in this together.”
