Streetcar Alliance Unveils Vision for Seattle Streetcar Network

Report highlights funding options for five new streetcar lines
WHAT: The Streetcar Alliance, a community-based partnership of private and
public advocates for a Seattle Streetcar network, will release a report, created
by the University of Washington, Urban Form Lab and Washington State Transportation
Center, outlining an expanded Seattle Streetcar network. The report, commissioned
by the Streetcar Alliance and the Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle, highlights
potential funding mechanisms for the operation and maintenance of five
new streetcar lines throughout the city.
These lines include:
- Westlake to Broadway
- Seattle waterfront to Interbay
- Yale to the University District and the University
of Washington
- Seattle waterfront to the International District
- Harrison Street to Seattle
Center
WHO: Streetcar Alliance committee members, neighborhood representatives from
potential streetcar line neighborhoods, city and state officials.
WHERE: The Group Health Streetcar stop (Westlake/Terry Building) on Terry
Avenue North, between Harrison Street and Thomas Street. Please enter through
Harrison Street.
