The Urban League of Metropolitan Seattle has been working hard to serve our community We are proud that the League has had a profound impact for the past 78 years of service to the metropolitan areas of Seattle by providing to African Americans, other people of color, low-income and working individuals and families the resources necessary in achieving economic and social parity.

The Education Department provided academic enrichment and culturally relevant services to 647 youth in its Safe Haven after school center, summer academy, and youth mentoring programs.

The Employment Department provided job preparation, employment and training, job placement and retention services to over 326 participants.

The Housing Department helped over 484 individuals and families with affordable rentals, credit counseling, financial literacy seminars, opening Individual Development Accounts, and a Homeownership Development Project in partnership with an institution closing $3.3 million in home loans.

Just last year we were able to directly help over 1457 deserving people in our various programs and hundreds of other in indirect services and there are still hundreds of families that need help from the Urban League.

The Urban League remains committed to and will continue to fight for equal access, opportunity in education, employment, and housing, a level playing field, and community in the truest sense.
